Broome to Derby
Breakfast outside in pleasant morning air. Cliff from next door came over to tell us about Phil Walsh. Went back into Broome to buy diesel and a few other things then hit the road.
Drove 220 Kms to Derby with one break to change drivers. Saw lots of different vegetation on way and some Brahmin cows wandering through bush as well as termite mounds. Arrived in Derby about 1.30 pm and booked into park. Not as nice as Broome but only for one night. Drove down to wharf and saw the tidal flats and mangroves. The town is on a very long peninsular surrounded by tidal flats.
Went to Info Centre and bought a locally made carved boab seed made by an aboriginal man. Derby was having its Mardi Gras parade at 4:00 but we thought a beer was more important so headed back to van.
